Travis and Joan started their faith journey at the youth ministry where Pastors Javier and Anjelina served back in 2005. They attended Southeastern University, where they both earned Bachelor’s Degrees in 2009.

After college, they got married and returned to Centro Internacional De La Familia where they served as Youth Pastors from 2010 to 2016. From their teen years to their time as youth pastors, they gained experience in missions, small groups, camps, conferences, leadership development, worship service production, event planning, preaching and teaching.

In 2016, they transitioned to Proximity Church to partner with the goal of spreading God’s unconditional love, building authentic community, and serving wholeheartedly in God’s purpose for His church. Together they now serve as Associate Pastors. Travis leads Circles, Frontline Crew, Starting Point and the Dad’s Circle. Joan serves in the Pastoral Care Department, Kids Ministry, and Mom’s Circle.

Travis works at Sun Blaze Elementary School as a Physical Education teacher. Joan works from home as a homeschooling mom of 5 and small business owner.
